Sprung Records of the week – 005

Fresh and juicy techno treats

The guys over at Sprung Records have some more fresh treats for you this week. Hot off the press from the likes of Daniel Avery, Ben Sims & Marcel Dettman and Auden.

Enjoy the music that they are feeling this week.

Demdike Stare – Testpressing#007 (Modern Love)

The 7th Testpressing release by the duo marks the end of a serious run of releases, and this instalment is every bit as crunchy and smoky as the previous six. The B side is our favourite, featuring chopped up vocals infused with garage and jungle.

RELEASE DATE 22/01/15

Daniel Avery – The Remixes EP (Phantasy Sound)

Avery enlists the help of 3 relatively different artists here to compile a strong and varied remix EP. The Rodhad remix is the instant stand-out track, however don’t discount the other two; both Silent Servant and Volte-Face have also been able to make something special here.

RELEASE DATE 16/01/15

Ben Sims – Theory Of Completion Volume One (Theory)

No explanation needed here really. Ben Sims and Marcel Dettmann on an EP together – it’s guaranteed to be good.

RELEASE DATE 22/01/15

Len Faki – DJ Edits Volume 4 (Figure)

Len Faki remixes 3 tracks – Ethics by 2000 And One, Journey To Kepler by French Fries, and long-time Sprung favourite Mines Of Mars by Rodhad. As the name suggests; great DJ tools.

RELEASE DATE 19/01/15

Auden – Wall To Wall (Hotflush Recordings)

Clanging techno with a bit of breakbeat on Paul Rose’s label, featuring massive church-like chords that seem to come out of nowhere.
